Enterprise Skills Training

Many people will at some point in their lives find themselves self employed or in an environment where having enterprise skills are essential. Enterprise skills training provides the expertise to deal with these situations, whether it be as a plumber, accountant, electrician, gardener or shop owner.

We have considerable experience of providing this training, either directly to individual entrepreneurs or by working in partnership with a wide range of training providers – including Universities, Colleges and Business Incubation Centres.

Geonomics Methodology

Training would consist of a series of one to one sessions, each lasting about an hour. Topics covered would include:

  • Business Idea: We would help each student to think about potential business ideas and the strengths and weaknesses of each one.

  • Researching the Market: They would be asked to research their chosen market in terms of customers, competitors and pricing.

  • Defining the Products or Services: The next stage would be to decide what product or service to offer to what type of customers over what geographical area.

  • Producing a Business Plan: A business plan would be produced showing start up costs, forecast annual and monthly sales, costs, revenues and estimated profit margins.

  • Getting Started: This session would be devoted to routine matters such as company registration, premises, trading address and website.

  • Marketing: Methods of marketing the business would be discussed.

  • Monitoring Performance: We would offer advice on how to monitor the performance of the business against the business plan and what remedial action to take if needed.
